Kristin Stoudt Hill

Girls Swimming & Diving
Induction Year: 2008

Kristin Stoudt Hill was an outstanding swimmer at Wheeling High School. At the time of her induction into the Wheeling Athletic Hall of Fame, she held eight school records in swimming. Kristin was a five-time I.H.S.A. state champion. She was a state champion in the 100-yard butterfly in 1985, 1986, and 1987; and the 100-yard freestyle champion in 1986 and 1987. She is the only swimmer in the history of the I.H.S.A. to win the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard freestyle in the same year, a feat Kristin accomplished twice. In 1986 she was featured in Sports Illustrated “Faces in the Crowd,” and was the national record holder in the 100-yard butterfly. Both the Chicago Tribune and Illinois Swim Coaches Association also named Kristin the 1988 “Swimmer of the Year”.
