Coach and Athletic Director

Pat Ritchie was a pioneer in establishing girls’ sports in the State of Illinois and the Mid Suburban League. Pat spent 25 years teaching physical education at Wheeling High School, and also served as the Girls Athletic Director for 28 years. In her time as a coach, Pat coached badminton, cheerleading and softball. As the softball coach, Pat started Wheeling’s program and was the head coach for 21 years. In 1992, Pat was inducted into the Illinois Girls’ Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
