Nikki Keith was an outstanding 3 sport athlete at Wheeling High School. She excelled in volleyball, basketball, and track and field. In volleyball Nikki was a two-time all-conference athlete and helped her team win an IHSA regional championship in 1994. Nikki also excelled on the basketball court earning all-conference honors twice. As a track and field athlete Nikki dominated the shot and discus events. In the discus Nikki was a two-time MSL champion, a 2-time sectional champion, and she qualified for the IHSA state meet 3 times. In the shot Nikki also dominated. Nikki was a 3-time MSL Champion and a 3-time IHSA sectional champion. She was also a 4-time state qualifier in the shot. In 1993 Nicole was an All-State thrower finishing 3rd. She improved on that result in 1994 by finishing 2nd in the IHSA state meet. Nikki also won the prestigious Indoor Prep Top Times State Championship in the shot. Nikki was voted the MSL female athlete of the year and Wheeling athlete of the year in 1995. At the time of her induction Nikki held the indoor shot record with a throw of 42’ 9’ and the outdoor record with a throw of 43’ 9
