Nancy Goldman Hurley is one of the most decorated track and field athletes in the history of Wheeling High School. Nancy was an 8-time medalist at the IHSA State Track and Field meet, helping Wheeling finish 2nd place at state in both 1986 and 1987. In 1986 Nancy finished 6th in the 100, and was a member of the 4 x 400 relay that finished 4th. In 1987 she finished 5th in the 100 and her 800 meter relay finished 2nd. At the 1989 state meet, Nancy medaled in 4 events, earning 2nd place finishes in the 400, 200, and 100, while also being a part of the 800 medley relay that finished 3rd. Along with her success at the state meet, Nancy was also a 14-time IHSA sectional champion and a member of three sectional championship teams. She currently holds the record for the most Mid Suburban League titles with 14, is still the current MSL record holder in the 200, and was a member of 4 Mid-Suburban League championship teams. Nancy also still holds 8 Wheeling High School records in track and field.
