Thomas Malicki was an outstanding football, basketball, and baseball player at Wheeling High School. Tom was a 4 year 3 sport athlete who was named an all-area athlete in all 3 sports he played. As a football player Tom earned all-conference and all-area recognition his senior year and was an honorable mention all-state player. He also served as a team captain and was voted MVP of the team his senior year. In basketball Tom was named to the all-tournament team of the Hardwood Classic in leading the Wildcats to the 1979 championship. Tom was also an all-area baseball player as a 4-year standout in the program. Tom finished his athletic career as the Wheeling Athlete of the Year in 1979-80. After graduating from Wheeling Tom went on to play baseball at Creighton University.
