Nick Bledsoe Athletics

Nick was an outstanding 4 year, 3 sport athlete at Wheeling High School. Nick excelled in the sports of football, wrestling and track and field. In football, Nick was a two-time MSL All-Conference player and in 2006 he was named to the Daily Herald All-Area team. As a wrestler Nick was the 2007 MSL Champion, IHSA Regional Champion and an IHSA state qualifier in 2007. Nick had great success in the events of shot and discus as a track and field athlete. He was a three time state qualifier in the discus and a shot put. Nick was an IHSA sectional champ in the discus in 2004, and an MSL champion in the shot put in 2006. In 2006 Nick finished 2nd in the state in the discus. Nick was also an All-State athlete in 2007 with a 7th place finish in the state shot put. Nick’s great career was highlighted with him being named the Daily Herald Athlete of the Year in 2006-07. After high school Nick went to Illinois State University on a Track and Field scholarship. After a year Nick joined the football team where he started on the offensive line for the Redbirds.
